The wind has been gusting at 30 odd knots over the deck most of today so we hunkered down below. Harbour rot has begun to set in so an escape has to be made tomorrow morning. Fortunately the weather forecast is predicting light northerly winds but as I write this at 18:00 it is still howling outside.

The plan is to head south to Hartlepool, or even to Whitby, if we are making good progress. Tomorrows evening high water is right for either of them.

Off to find food and a pint…
